I am a systems engineer specialising in weapons and space and a Certificate IV qualified Test and Evaluation (T&E) practitioner with fourteen years of Defence and space experience. My passion is for space and, as such, I have built my career around skills complementary to space. After graduating from Mechanical and Space Engineering and Physics degrees, I developed my skills in the weapons domain, within which I have been involved in a variety of work ranging from engineering policy to weapons certification and trials. I moved into operational T&E in 2017, providing support to communications trials. In 2020, I successfully planned, executed, and reported on the operational T&E of the Australian Army’s Hawkei vehicle. I followed this campaign planning and conducting preview T&E activities for the Australian Defence Force’s Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) capabilities and Land Force Forward Staging. Since this, my career has been focussed on largely on space activities, managing the SASAT-1 Kanyini project during the test and integration phases, developing the ADF’s first set of space regulations, and assessing ISAR Aerospace’s launch application for launch in Norway.I have been active in space within Nova Systems, Australia, and internationally. In 2017 I led the Nova Space Capability Report to help build the company’s role in the Australian space industry. As a representative of the National Committee for Space Engineering since 2020, I have participated in workshops with the Australian Space Agency regarding the state and future of the country’s space industry and discuss as such with the country’s best. I was the communications lead and 2IC for the successful first International Space University Adelaide Conference in 2020 and I participated in the International Astronautical Federation’s Young Professionals Workshop (2017), for which I acted in a leadership capacity as rapporteur. I won the Aviation/Aerospace Australia Outstanding Next Generation Professional 2020 for my efforts in space and guided weapons. Finally, I am persistent in making our workplaces inclusive for all. I work with diversity and inclusion committees and leads, graduates and graduate teams, and as a mentor and mentee, as well as attend inclusive leadership workshops and research international best practice, to work towards developing the best inclusive workplaces we can implement. My mission is to create inclusive and safe workspaces in which minorities, and diversity of thought, can thrive.
