Completed my summer internship under the guidance of Dr. Syed Arif Wali, TERI under land resource division for the project titled 'Red Mud Rehabilitation' at Hindalco, Muri, Jharkhand.Red mud is a major waste produced during the production of Aluminum. All the waste were dumped on agricultural land and human settled land. So under the Jharkhand pollution control board if industries degrade the land or pollute they must rejuvenate the land as it was before. So rejuvenation work is being done on that dumped area. The rejuvenation work is carried out by developing green vegetation cover over the dump site and make the dump mud neutral as red mud is highly alkaline so making it neutral will help in the growth of vegetation. These kind of activities will give boost to agroforestry and will help in tackling climate change.
