Cannabinoid ScientistMy scientific career has focused on the molecular biology of disease, namely Alzheimer's disease (AD), melanoma, and opiate receptors. I consider myself a "bench to clinic" researcher as I am involved in numerous aspects of investigation. My work has led to 2 patents, 4 provisional patent submissions, and several publications over the past decade. I am currently a Visiting Scientist with CU-Anschutz Medical Campus in the department of Neurology with ongoing experiments in the field of Alzheimer's disease.In July of 2015, I became the Scientific Director of Evolab, a Denver based cannabis extraction company focusing solely on the use of sub and supercritical CO2 extraction technology. We have since incorporated fractional distillation, preparative chromatography, analytical chromatography, and medical product development. Additionally, we have initiated an industry-academic hybrid research program with several state universities as well as Canadian universities. The research focuses on the role of cannabinoids and terpenes in various disease paradigms including neurodegeneration, cancer, and pain and spans from cell culture to small animals to clinical studies.
