All aspects of the IT environment were improved or replaced, on agreed timelines and budgets. Service levels were dramatically improved and new initiatives and efficiencies across the business helped KIG to become a Lloyd’s broker and an Insurance Age Top 100 Independent Broker. -
Head Of InfrastructureAssociated Northcliffe Digital Oct 2009 - Jan 2011London, GbAssociated Northcliffe Digital (AND) was the digital division of the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) and included Teletext, Jobsite, Find A Property and others in its portfolio. The IT environment at DMGT was designed to support the newspaper business and the resultant levels of risk aversion did not suit the fast-paced digital businesses. Reporting to the CTO, I was tasked to design and deliver a new core infrastructure to better serve the AND organisation. I created a new office infrastructure, utilising early cloud technologies, capable of the agility required by collaborative digital-first businesses. This allowed flexible working and a light-touch, self-service support environment. The lessons learned were later adopted by DMGT. -

In a highly technical organisation, my focus on the end-user; colleague or customer, made me stand out and I was promoted through various roles to become the Operations Manager. I developed and ran the office infrastructure and desktop and client systems for Teletext and subsidiaries, including office, contact centre and retail environments. I was appointed to the Shadow Executive Board and served on the AND Information Security Working Group.
