We were both diagnosed with Autistic Disorder when we were three years-old. At that time, we could not talk well and had echolalia, which means that we repeated nearly everything that people said to us. We also had many challenges using our bodies and our sensory system was a mess which required Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. After years of in home therapy, high expectations in education and perseverance through challenges situations, we have accomplished goals such as driving, attending college and obtaining college diplomas, certifications and recently an Associate Degree. Although we struggled to speak 20 years-ago, we are now Speaking About Autism! Recently, we decided to start a business to make a difference in the lives of others. The name of our Public Speaking/Educational Consulting business is called Speaking About Autism LLC. We aspire to bring hope to the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families and communities through sharing our story.
