Student Forum is the student government body for the Graduate School of Design. The Student Groups Chair organizes and supports the student groups, managing $30,000 of funding allocations to student clubs and organizations. This role also works on initiatives and resources to increase capacity of student groups and leaders. Other duties include liaising with Harvard Graduate School Council, drafting the new Student Forum bylaws, and contributing to other student government initiatives.

Researched themes of fragmentation in Oaxaca’s disaster response to its 2017 earthquakes based off of fieldwork in Mexico funded by the David Rockefeller Center Latin American Studies, supervised by Diane Davis. Project concluded in a presentation at the Beyond Reconstruction conference and creation of a forthcoming chapter in a GSD publication.

Fellowship at legal services non-profit that reduces drug crime and empowers disadvantaged neighborhoods through legal services and community efforts. Duties consisted of implementing systems for data management and alignment; supporting quantitative projects through ArcGIS, Salesforce, Tableau, and Excel; researching crime-related interventions; and developing a data culture through workshops and empowerment initiatives.

Worked as a facilitator, mentor, and teaching assistant for high school students participating in the Leadership Institute at Brown University. Designed and facilitated several workshops in subjects such as diversity, productivity in meetings, and leadership styles. Advised students as they created Action Plans to address a concern in their community.

Conducted research in a vascular biology lab for three years, culminating in a published paper as first author and presentation at conference. In this role, developed research and quantitative skills in a fast-paced and intense setting. Research included with human and pig heart and lung dissections and experiments, tested drugs using a muscle bath technique, pulverized and preserved samples. Experiments included protocols such as Western blots, gel transfers and electrophoresis, Von Kossa, eNOS, and Lectin staining.

Selected for a summer Vanderbilt program examining global community engagement and health systems in the U.K. Funded by the Nichols Humanitarian Research award. The program included workshops and visits to learn about preventative health systems and healthy inequities. In addition, the program included a volunteer placement in an East London arts center that focused on engaging youths and developing their creative passions, This role involved facilitating classes, teaching crisis management, and mentoring and supporting of youth from a range of backgrounds.

Facilitated process of transferring to an Accountable Care Organization framework. Helped to organize and manage data, research healthcare policy, and record meetings.

Participated in the Student teachers Access to Resources (STARS) program. Worked in Dermatology department under Dr. Ben Chong to assess protein expression in cutaneous lupus erythematosus in Balb-c mice. Developed poster and powerpoint presentation to present data.

Student research assistant in Ray MacDonald Pancreatic Cancer lab at UT Southwestern. Worked on purification and crystallization of transcription factors in mice.
