LexPipe is my latest legal tech venture, focused squarely on the profession's biggest anachronism: the billable hour. LexPipe will help law firms analyze their time so they can offer fixed and phased fee services. This is my second legal tech startup focusing on large law firms handling voluminous and complex litigation. My past company helped firms make tactical litigation decisions based on public dockets. My new company helps firms budget and price that litigation.LexPipe uses public records to identify major events in litigation, and ties those events back to the bills provided by the firms. Firms can quickly identify the cost of phases with filters for litigation claim, events, hearings, and many more. The cliche is that "no two cases are alike", but with LexPipe, we aim to tease out all of the factors that make a case expensive and burdensome versus fast and efficient.
