• Added intelligent capabilities to the next generation of space cameras under development at MDA.• Developed two different Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) algorithms based on mission operations constraints that worked with retroreflective targets. One approach used a learned classier and one used more traditional histogram-based methods but was redesigned for the desired task.• Performed initial work on a ``software defined camera'' pipeline used to aid in exposure and dynamic range issues present in space applications.This internship was performed through the Mitacs Accelerate Internship Program.

Working in the Vision Lab at York University. My primary work in this lab used a stereo video sequence of the surgical site to build a 3D model of the patient's liver during an operation. This 3D reconstruction is registered back to a preoperative scan of the patient's anatomy. The 3D estimates of the patient's liver are updated and the patient's liver is tracked using computer vision techniques, during an intraoperative inspection phase, allowing the surgical team to readily relate structures visible in the CT scans with the current state of the patient's anatomy.

Working on Computer Vision, Mobile Robotics and Virtual Reality projects in the VGR lab at York University.

Worked on the Java "just in time" (JIT) compiler development team as an intern. Worked on code for the back-end portion of the compiler that dealt with optimizations mainly specific to the System Z mainframe architecture. This was a performance conscious / customer centered development team.

Worked closely with executives under supervision of the VP of Project Management in the Project Management Office of Wardrop Engineering Inc. As technical specialist I elicited constraints and developed custom software tools to aid in training, management and financial aspects of the company.

Made introductory presentations to incoming students, provided one-on-one student advising (mainly with regards to course selection) and designed and presented interactive course enrollment sessions.
