Founded in 1856, Sigma Alpha Epsilon strives to reach the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, leadership, and service. Through focused principles, strong convictions, and the strength to always do the right thing, the goal of the Fraternity is to give young men the community, culture, guidance, and tools they need to be a True Gentleman. • Provide direct administrative and budgetary oversight and leadership to four comprehensive departments that include growth/retention, education/curriculum development, chapter/colony development, and redevelopment/conduct;• Directly supervise four full-time professionals, and manage a team of fifteen full-time professionals, serving 10,000 active undergraduate members;• Collaborate with internal and external personnel for the purpose of coordinating activities and programs, resolving issues and conflicts, exchanging information, and developing policies and procedures that build departmental and organization coherence and efficiencies; • Compile and analyze data, trends, and polices related to education for the purposes of identifying and anticipating membership needs and designing services to address these needs; • Advise on matters pertaining to member engagement and success;• Develop, implement, and assess programs, services, and initiatives that enhance the overall member/chapter experience;• Coordinate the response to student/chapter emergencies and crisis management;• Serve as a key member of the Fraternity Leadership Team reporting to the Eminent Supreme Recorder/CEO.

Student Leadership and Civic Engagement provides student-centered co-curricular leadership and service programming that facilitates diverse and inclusive collaboration, self-awareness, and socially just community engagement. SLCE programs encourage personal and professional development, active citizenship, cultural humility, and transformational growth.• Provided leadership and direction for a comprehensive student affairs unit of two full-time staff and two graduate assistants, serving 1,500 students annually;• Prepared, monitored, and managed an annual departmental budget of $336,000;• Developed and coordinated student leadership-development opportunities, based in the Social Change Model, including IGNITE, FlashPoint, Leadership UIC, Catalyst, the LeaderShape Institute, and a variety of other programs; • Created and delivered customized leadership experiences, trainings, and workshops for campus organizations, departments, and educational institutions;• Oversaw the annual Chancellor’s Student Service and Leadership Awards selection process and recognition ceremony; • Identified and developed community partnerships with non-profit agencies and develop volunteer and service opportunities for students including coordinating and implementing volunteer fairs and special events; • Developed and maintained an on-line database of volunteer opportunities;• Developed and presented civic learning and democratic engagement programs and activities including Debate Watch Parties, Rock the Vote, Voter Registration, and Constitution Day.

Located in the heart of Chicago, I oversaw the administration of a 300 first year student co-ed residential living-learning community. Working within an urban, segmented, and diverse campus my responsibilities included the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of eight resident assistants, four peer mentors, a senior resident assistant, and a senior peer mentor. In addition to my duties as a Residence Hall Director, I served as the interim adviser to the four national social Greek fraternities on the UW-L campus. These chapters included Delta Sigma Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Tau Gamma, and Chi Phi. I also advised the Interfraternity Council, promoted a values-based fraternal experience, and served as a resource while assisting Alpha Sigma Phi during their colonization process.• Served as liaison with national offices;• Aided in advisement, recruitment, risk management and assist with problem solving;• Attended Interfraternity Council and other Greek governance meetings.• Met regularly with leadership of the fraternities, Interfraternity Council, and Greek Life graduate assistant to keep up to date on issue.

Eagle Gray HallUW-L’s newest residential living facility, opened in the fall of 2011. Serving as an inaugural Residence Hall Director, I developed and coordinated the day-to-day operations within this 500 bed, co-ed, Gold LEED Certified residence hall. My responsibilities included the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of nine resident assistants and seven assistant housekeepers. Additionally, I collaborated with the offices of International Education and Residence Life to develop, implement, and evaluate the new Global Village living learning community.Sanford HallStarting in the summer of 2010, I coordinated the day-to-day operations of a co-ed residence hall of 250 students. My responsibilities included the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of a desk coordinator, twelve desk assistants, and two academic resource mentors in addition to nine resident assistants and two assistant housekeepers. Leadership Safari™ is a guided experience created to help residence hall students learn more about leadership and leadership opportunities at Central Michigan University.
