Part of an 8-person team that developed Nik-0, a puzzle-exploration game meant for touchscreen devices. I was responsible for implementing the main gameplay systems as well as most of the graphical effects. I also created a custom placement widget in Unity for placing the puzzle pieces correctly without requiring much time or tedious work. The work I did and the final results can be watched in the attached playlist. Nik-0 exhibited at Pocket Gamer SF, PixelPop Festival in St Louis, and was one of 25 games at Seattle Indies Expo in 2018. See the project entry for Nik-0 for the rest of the wonderful team!* Implemented gameplay features, primarily the puzzle mechanics according to the design specification* Created a simple event-based game logic system that allowed for code reuse and the implementation of complex logic just through Unity's inspector* Created the necessary shaders and code to implement the "power flow" effect across multiple puzzle pieces and ensured that it represented the gameplay state with absolute accuracy* Created the puzzle and tile placement tool - a Unity Scene View widget that could cycle through groups of objects each with unique placement rules and allowed for placement by stamping instances into the scene* Built a more featured system on top of my event-based logic system to represent electrical networks, powering on and off of level objects, and level transitions/level loading
