I presently lead project inception activities for major highway projects within Transport for London's (TfL) Safe and Healthy Streets portfolio. My case-making role encompasses a mix of transport planning, first stage highway design and strategic business case preparation. I manage a small team across a varied portfolio of highway projects encompassing road safety, bus, cycle and multi-modal themes. My role demands close working with internal TfL business colleagues and London Borough, developer and landowner partners to scope and design potential interventions across London aligned to Mayor of London transport and environmental goals. My particular role interests include using GIS to prepare and present data visually, project outcomes monitoring and all elements of pedestrian and walking activity.Until December 2017 I worked in the Growth Team at Transport for London (TfL), charged with developing early stage transport schemes that will be delivered over the next 30 years to support regeneration and redevelopment at London's growth sites. This challenging and varying role allowed me to work across the breadth of TfL, alongside Borough colleagues and with developers utilising all my transport planning skills and experience to develop transport solutions including transformative designs for Catford and Morden town centres respectively. I started my career in IT including a specialised role in software testing for one of the Big 4 accountancy firms. This latter role involved programming automated test suites for business software before it was released to clients and in particular, developed my skills involving forensic analysis and attention to detail.I switched careers to pursue my foremost interest in transport and planning, securing a role at TfL. Here, I have progressed from focusing on walking, accessibility and urban realm delivery and policies to my present role defining and commencing our largest Surface highway projects, building my experience and skills throughout. I have particular technical skills in: Transport Planning; early lifecycle project sponsorship; Pedestrian Environment Review System (PERS) audits; Pedestrian Comfort Guidance (Level of Service tool); Non-Motorised User Audits (NMUA); outcome monitoring; data interpretation; report and briefing preparation.
