I have always enjoyed working with a team to develop solutions to novel problems. I've focused my extra curricular activities on teamwork and hardware engineering. I was an active leader while I was an active member in the Boy Scouts and am an Eagle Scout, and spent multiple years participating in a competitive robotics club. My work experience has led me to engage with software engineering - development, testing, and integration. My technical skills include SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, Python, and Project Libre.I joined the Boy Scouts at 11. My troop master was an avid proponent of teaching STEM and fostering leadership. I was an active member until I received my Eagle Scout rank and aged out of the program, and I took a love of engineering and the sciences that I learned constructing trebuchets and bottle rockets into the First Lego League robotics competition. I and friends from the BSA and from various school created a small team to compete in regional tournaments. A big focus was meeting with members of various industries to learn what problems people were facing in areas like public transit and food safety and creating prototype devices based on what we learned, leading us to first places prizes two years in a row. The programming and design skills I learned led me to take classes on 3D modeling software in high school, and ultimately to major in aerospace engineering at UCSD. Flexibility and learning new skills has been an essential part of my work. My first job with CARE Evaluators had me undertake a wide variety of tasks on short notice - learning and testing new software, auditing files, helping sell products at a trade show, and closing an office. Similarly, at my first technical internship at Dexcom, I was introduced to new information systems and programming languages. I was quickly able to produce apps to streamline and automate several workflows within the company, and introduce new technologies to the company facilitate a better customer experience.
