Completed a 2-month fixed term contract as part of the audit team of a large insurer. Leveraging my extensive experience and strong relationships with this client, acquired through previous engagements, I was able to make a significant contribution to the audit of the newly implemented IFRS 17 standard.My role entailed engaging with the client's actuarial department and IFRS 17 accounting experts where my fellow senior associate and I were instrumental in bridging the disciplinary divides between the specialised processes of the actuarial valuations team and the auditing standards by which we were required to conduct our audit. This role not only demanded a deep understanding of both fields but also the ability to communicate complex concepts across disciplines, ultimately ensuring the actuarial processes and downstream financial reporting processes adhered to the comprehensive requirements of IFRS 17.
