Jacob Robinson's lab at Rice is developing experimental tools to push electrophysiology beyond current limits using photonic and nanoengineering technologies - I joined the lab in the early days and built custom laboratory equipment like a solenoid valve controller and a syringe manipulation device that are used in conjunction with custom microfluidic chips to conduct high-throughput electrophysiology.

One of roughly twenty seniors at Rice who conducted interviews with prospective high school students throughout the school year.

Proofreader of course material and form moderator for a massive open online class offered through Rice on the EdX platform.

Performed time-domain terahertz spectroscopy of novel uranyl peroxide clusters. Worked on custom equipment for terahertz optics setup.

I wrote software to test and debug low-power RF devices and I also led a rapid prototyping effort for a consumer electronics device on the contact lens project at Google [x].

Worked on several projects including building test infrastructure, development of new 12Gbps SAS hardware, and verification of next generation HDDs and solid state drives using various application, link and physical layer tools.

Contributed to a couple projects (both sensitive/classified) used in device testing and characterization, including both hardware and software solutions. LabView and TestStand as a general framework as well as microcontroller hardware and software. Additional digital signal processing project involving IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee).

Worked under a grad student in the EE department to chracterize type-II strained layer superlattices for applications in infrared photodetection.

Tracking and characterization of IgE receptor clustering on RBL-Mast cells observed with TIRF microscopy. Project utilized ImageJ and MATLab.
