Currently enrolled at Simpson College and pursuing a Bachelors in Graphic Design with a minor in Marketing. I am a highschool graduate from West Burlington High School in West Burlington, Iowa. On campus I am involved in the greek like, gaming, and sports. These all really help to build who I am and I just enjoy them all. Sports help to keep me on a schedule and invest time to fill my time during college and I love hanging with my team. This goes for gaming as well which takes the last part of my day and I also get to be the captain of my title of video game for an amazing team. I get to help my team get better while also work on myself.Graphic design really came to interest to me in my senior year in high school when our business teacher saw that for many of our mock projects he really liked the ads I would make for our companies. I also realized I really enjoyed making them. Although our high school did not provide and graphic design classes, web development, or anything in that area I proceeded to follow that path. I am now in college and taking graphic design classes and learning things by ear, while also learning things in my free time.Another reason I figured out I loved graphic design was from two job shadows I did over the summer. One was with a radio station and I had the honor of following a graphic designer through their work day and watch them create ads, pitch ideas, and lead a meeting for a website they were releasing. This along with job shadowing a relative who runs a graphic t-shirt company and creates the graphics for shirts upon request taught me I really love this field. I hope to learn enough to start interning next summer and potentially start free-lancing this summer.
