Accepted applicants were put through a five week online course, detailing everything from the history of NASA to the I.S.S. Exams were administered, and a final design proposal and paper was required. Those with the top scores were taken onsite to a NASA location. I received a score of 100% in the course and was taken to the Johnson Space Center. The events on site were focused on team work and adaptability. At JSC I met many people with amazing jobs, including astronauts. There were 42 students total, and we were split into teams or "businesses", and were told to construct a robot with our team mentor to compete against the others in a mock, Mars retrieval scenario. We then presented our robot and competition performance to a panel of NASA employees. In addition we were allowed access to the Neutral Buoyancy and robotics laboratory.
