Interned on the Heartland Civic Collaborative's Life Sciences Census as a Data Scientist, responsible for developing and populating a comprehensive database of life sciences assets in a four state area.Built a web-scraping tool to pull data from leading private business databases to reduce billable hours for the project. Tool was able to index 1600 companies per hour, thus reducing average data collection time by 2000%.Built a pure Python data tool to summarize large census data set from Data.gov. Data tool took hundreds of thousands of data points, and quickly selected for ones that pertained to a target list of qualifications. Results provided granular statistics on the target regions for the HCC Census.
