Conveniently located on the Columbia River, is the premiere powerboat club in the Portland/Vancouver area. With a panoramic view of the mighty Columbia River from the stunning clubhouse and grounds, a welcoming, comforting feeling overtakes you as you pass through the front gate. Formed in 1946 by a group of volunteer Coast Guardsmen, CRYC is situated on several of the most scenic acres on Hayden Island just east of the Interstate Bridge. CRYC is rich in tradition – and richer yet in the commitment to bringing our Members the ultimate experience of camaraderie and family-oriented activities. Visitors are overwhelmed by the club’s setting, the friendly attitude of the members and staff, and the sense that this club is truly a retreat from the ordinary.

As the Sous Chef, essentially the assistant manager, I was responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations on a daily basis. I was required to train, cross-train, administer disciplinary actions, sustain production, required to do food ordering and receiving, as well as maintaining quality control.
