SF-1 Racing is a student team that designs, builds and races an open wheeled formula one car. Established in January of 2012, the team has overcome significant challenges since its birth and is currently working on production of the first Formula SAE car to race for Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. The goal of the team is to reach a sustainable level when a brand new car can be designed and built every year. SF-1 Racing is committed to the implementation of high- tech, high- performance automotive design. Our goal is not only to build appealing and functional Formula SAE car, but also to aid the learning of Engineering, Business, SIAT and Communications students at Simon Fraser University. We meet these objectives through innovative product design, ethical engineering practices, and responsible public relations.As of December 2013, the comprised of over 50 students from various programs including but not limited to Mechatronics & Electrical Engineering, Science, SIAT, Business and Communications. Our mission is to provide our students at SFU a practical way to apply the knowledge they've learnt in their studies and to give them the real world experience that is necessary to propel them forward after their time at post secondary. Worked as a Junior Mechatronics Engineer performing design and some project management of a 2000 meter capable ROV system. Duties performed: - Educating public about the benifits and risks of being around the water. - Ready to respond to emergencies ranging from drowning to chlorine leaks.- Instructing swim lessons for people aged 3 months to 90 years old. - Coaching triathalon and stroke improvement courses - Performing pool maintenance including adding chemicals to the pools, maintaining lockers, cleaning/disenfecting changerooms, etc.

Peformed a wide range of duties ranging from but not limited too: - Building design ranging from small efficient modular washroom/laboratories to large electrical suppy buildings using Solidworks. - Creating bill of materials and sourcing materials from various local suppliers - Working with purchasing department, sales and fabrication crew to insure building stay on budget and on time. - Using Syspro to manage project budget and expenses - Organising crane loading, freight and exportation for oversize buildings as heavy as 40 tonnes to destinations as far as Mongolia.
