My name is Spencer Stuart and I am currently a Senior at Utah State University. I am just starting my senior design project as well as my aerospace electives. Throughout my time at Utah State University, I have loved working in the engineering field. I have a deep love for the design, build, and testing aspects of it. From a very early age, I have had a deep love for aircraft, spacecraft, and generally anything that flies. Around the age of eight, I decided I wanted to pursue Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Now that I attend Utah State University, in pursuit of this degree, I am looking to further my experience in that area. Previous to my volunteer mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I was a part of an internship with Northrop Grumman where I aided in the manufacturing process of fixed wing military aircraft. It gave me experience in working with various types of machines, material types, and work environments. Along with this experience, I have spent time in a composite materials course and other university courses such statics, thermodynamics, linear algebra, aerodynamics, heat transfer, advanced dynamics, and system controls.During the senior year of my high school education, I dove heavily into the robotics and programming section of engineering. Competing in VEX robotics, I went on to win the state competition and receive the division finalist award at the world championships. My experience has grown in programming and engineering since then and I look forward to increasing that knowledge and experience. Throughout high school, I was trained heavily in Autodesk Inventor graphic modeling software. To add to that tool, I recently completed a course in which I learned Solidworks and how to effectively read drawings. After passing the CSWA Exam, I became certified in that design field.Currently I am employed at Space Dynamic Laboratories. I work in thermal technologies for small satellite systems by building and designing high density thermal links. The job has made me proficient in Solidedge, document control systems, quality industry standards, and much more.
