Share Christ and Show Love is at the forefront of my mind as I work on each assigned task. This is our organization's motto and I will work diligently to both demonstrate and communicate it. This model appears in my individual work by the way that I train and work alongside others. To love others is to treat them with respect coupled with care in their growth and development. I share Christ by taking the time to ask my coworkers intentional questions about themselves and the work they are doing. The act of first listening and then responding allows me to communicate with them in more affective ways. By listening first, often others are more receptive to what I have to say, because I have first given them the space to speak what is on their mind and heart.Integrating the motto with the way that I manage and produce mass emails has been an enjoyable challenge. How do I communicate the way Texas Baptists is sharing Christ and showing love while also keeping in mind that our audience will also need to be shown love and have Christ shared with them? Intentionality with our messages, speech/tone coupled with the audiences email journey communicates our respect and love for their time.Helping continue our wonderful company culture is integral in the management and creation of internal communications. Our design and speech is centered around encouragement and messaging that continues to remind employees that they are integral in the production of the good work the organization strives to provide for its churches and partners.

People have often said that I'm not the all-star player, but I can take an okay team and make it great. Part of my strengths is making others better. I enjoy learning all I can about whatever industry I am in, the company I work for, and the team I work with. I then take that knowledge and use it to help people unlock their potential. I also enjoy problem solving and collaboration. I can think fast on my feet, and more often than not remain calm. I think collaboration is an important part of problem solving, because before you can solve major problems, you must be able to see and understand multiple perspectives and aspects. You need people to help you make sure your solution will solve the different perspectives you didn't think of. Sometimes you need to spit out ideas with others before a simple solution can rise to the surface. I believe another aspect of problem solving is spotting future problems that have yet to occur, and then eliminating them before they can be a problem or minimizing them so they are less of a problem. Hard work and dedication are important. Don't let anyone tell you differently. I fully believe that you shouldn't just give up or drop out when things get tough, but rather go back to the drawing board and seek help from those around you. Often times what you know can only get you so far, but who you know can get you further. So maybe you just need to reach out to the right person for help and there is no shame in that. Doing what is best for the company and the people I work with is worth the sacrifice of my pride as long as it doesn't endanger any of my personal beliefs.

Everyone wants their event to go off without a hitch. Supporting those who are throwing an event by taking care of the set up, paying attention to small details and managing audio and visual goes a long way. It is important to reassure event planners and presenters that you care and are capable of helping them accomplish the experience and message they are trying to produce and get across to their audience.

During the month of May and June I worked with Debbie Childs and Kathy James as a Summer Camp Coordinator. I was in charge of the summer staff as well as a contact point for each camp's director. I met with each camp's director before their campers arrived to get a list of needs and ways in which my staff and I could assist the camp. Some of the tasks that I was asked to do during this job was: create work schedules, delegate work tasks, manage and execute audio visual needs, administer room keys, assist with cleaning, coordinate outdoor sports, and file paper work as well as secure camp contracts. I worked with several camps such as JROTC camps (CLC and CSLC), Band camp, and Texas Baptists Super Summer.
