Spencer is a first-year law student at Rutgers Law School in Newark, NJ, where he serves as a 1L Representative for both the Society for Corporate Law and Governance and the American Constitution Society, and Clerk of the school's Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Jackson Chapter. He is deeply committed to exploring the intersections of law, business, and policy.Before law school, Spencer was an Associate on BlackRock’s Registered Funds (1940 Act) Compliance team, gaining three years of substantive experience in regulatory and compliance functions. His work included support for registered fund co-investment deals, OCC and SEC regulatory exams, FINRA and NFA licensure, records governance, marketing compliance, and other core compliance activities. He also took part in pro bono service projects through Lawyers Alliance for New York and volunteered as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City.Spencer earned a B.S. in Business and Political Economy from NYU’s Stern School of Business and has studied in London, Shanghai, Washington, D.C., and Santiago, Chile.
