About Spencer Hansen

User Experience Design, Digital Strategy, Project & Team LeadI've been leading teams of creatives and developers in digital projects for over ten years. I started my career as a designer and illustrator in 2003 and have enjoyed the ups and downs of running a small creative practice since then. As front-end technologies on the web developed in the mid-2000's, I jumped right in, focusing more and more of my efforts in the digital realm. Through the years of client projects, I've developed my design background into a focus on digital strategy, UX, and front-end development.Since then, Spencer has enjoyed leveraging his experience to lead projects with particularly challenging visual and interactive requirements.

    I met Corgibytes in 2016 working on a shared project. I quickly became a fan of them and their approach to software development— which has been a big influence on how I approach user experience design. There are so many strong parallels between remodeling legacy code/reducing technical debt/being a 'mender' and the iterative, user-feedback-informed improvement of a product's experience.Over the following couple of years I was lucky to work closer and closer with Corgibytes on both shared projects and some of their internal initiatives. Eventually, I couldn't resist the allure of our compatibility and the opportunity to regularly work side-by-side with such a vast wealth of experience, wisdom and outright supportive people. I pitched the idea of becoming a Corgi to incorporate UX design services where it naturally provides value within the software remodeling practice... and now here I am!
