I took many courses in machine learning, convex optimization, computer vision, linear dynamical systems, operating system design, low power wireless design, power electronics, stochastic processes, robotics, and even manufacturing. I started out with a focus in embedded systems and RF circuit design. I developed a hand-held programmable microfluidic "bioreactor", doing all software and electronic hardware + PCB design. I also helped develop a tiny ~1.0 gram wireless implant for optogenetics research in mice where I did all the embedded software plus Windows interface and initial PCB layout and battery charger design.
