A real estate investor and director, I focus on economic development with a mission to revitalize blighted areas to help bring jobs and spur additional investment nearby. I aim to preserve and restore historic buildings to retain neighborhood charm while adding vibrancy to the community.As a Director, I underwrite vacant, or soon-to-be vacant, single-tenant retail properties for acquisition, provide investment advisory services to the corporate solutions group, perform investment analyses for alternative lease cases, and pass the value along to my clients. By collaborating with real estate occupiers, like large regional banks, I help optimize assets through embedded equity and lease cost reduction to future-proof their store locations. Of my many deals, I am proud of a project that included a portfolio-wide strategic value-add for a top 10 bank. Intending to reduce occupancy costs, I shrunk their footprint by subdividing the space and renegotiating their lease buy-out, saving the bank $100 million over five years. My passion for real estate began as I observed my dad working as a home inspector. I found that I loved the houses, the communities, and the potential to earn money while also giving back to communities through the restoration of commercial offices, multi-family properties, and single-family homes. My contributions help bring jobs, future economic development, and continued recovery of the infrastructure. My dad and I now partner on finding homes with "good bones" to restore. We do the work, outsource what we can't do, and then manage the properties when finished. With several properties under our belt already and others under contract, I have turned my profession into my hobby. By staying involved in local organizations, including the Urban Land Institute, where I serve on the Boston Real Estate Advisory Committee and Boston's Young Leaders Group, I help communities better understand their assets and community needs. I also serve on the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA), all in hopes to help revive communities. When not working or talking about real estate, I restore my high school car, a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, transforming an old rust bucket to its former beauty. I also enjoy attending presentations and panels on topics such as leadership and issues affecting Generation Y.
