I am a graduating Master of Science student from the University of Alberta with a background in kinesiology, exercise oncology and behaviour change. My graduate studies focused on exploring the benefits of exercise for cancer survivors. In particular, I examined exercise prevalence and motivators in testicular cancer survivors using behavioural theory. Through several graduate research assistantships, I assisted in the coordination and data collection of various clinical exercise oncology trials. My time at the University of Alberta provided opportunities to collaborate with world-leading researchers in the fields of exercise oncology, public health, epidemiology and health behaviour change. Alongside research coordination and data analysis, I have extensive experience conducting clinical exercise testing, prescription and supervision in cancer survivors. As a former cancer survivor myself, I recognize the multifaceted benefits of physical activity and exercise in chronic disease management. My experiences as a former national team athlete, varsity team captain and developmental track and field coach provide insight into the various beneficial roles sport and exercise can play in human growth and development. I look forward to sharing my passion for health and wellness with others!
