Director of the wildly popular, genre-bending web series CARMILLA (Smoke Bomb/Shaftesbury), and the award-winning feature film THE CARMILLA MOVIE. To date, Carmilla’s 108 episodes have 75 million views on YouTube, won multiple CSAs and recently won the 2018 MIPTV Branded Content of the Year.​Spencer’s TV directing credits include THE BEAVERTON and LETTERKENNY. His short film MAN v. MINIVAN premiered at TIFF and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Direction in Film, as well as becoming a Short of the Week and a Vimeo Staff Pick before it was sold to Fandor. Originally from Toronto, Spencer studied creative writing at UVic, lived in Winnipeg and Vancouver, and worked as an actor (X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE), TAD, spark, showrunner’s and director’s assistant, before returning to Toronto to attend the Canadian Film Centre Director’s Lab.  He’s currently writing a dramatic feature which received support from Bell’s Harold Greenberg Fund and the Canada Council for the Arts and directs commercials for brands like Ford, Toyota, Sony, Microsoft, EA Sports' FIFA, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Toronto FC. He is a graduate of the CFC’s Director’s Lab and is represented by Meridian Artists.
