Conduct data collection, literature reviews, and acquisition of other necessary materials for Dr. Ariuna Taivan's project entitled "Time-Series Analysis on Financial Development and Economic Growth Relationship." The independent nature of my position means that I am responsible for managing my own time and allocating effort in a direction that I see most conducive to achieving the weekly goals given to me by Dr. Taivan. At the end of each week I report back with a brief summery of how my time is spent as well as a concise report of the week’s findings.

This project began when I approached my managers during a summer job and expressed an interest in completing any statistical/data analysis they had been wanting to do but did not have the expertise to complete. I conducted an analysis of the financial efficiency of the UMD Facility Management’s fleet equipment in comparison to a national census of government funded fleet programs. I presented my findings, which included technician-staffing suggestions, to managers that had no prior statistical background. The information was used to justify a petition against funding cuts.

I acted as the peer tutor for the intro to microeconomics, intro to macroeconomics, calculus I, and calculus II courses. Tutor groups ranged in size from 1 to 6 peers, where I was expected to create an open flow of communication, and nurture a successful learning environment.
