Developing web and data analysis applications for researchers at the University of Victoria, British Columbia.

Over fifteen years experience in public communications, including professional writing and research for corporate publications; social media strategies, network engagement, marketing campaigns and analytics. As well, I have extensive experience in web development, programming, desktop publishing and graphic design.

As the GRAND NCE's Communications Officer, I led the national network's public communications initiatives to raise awareness of some of Canada's leading academic research and emerging technologies in digital media. Working with a small, dedicated team, I led GRAND’s communication strategy for online and social media engagement, including the production of promotional materials, websites, as well as writing articles and producing videos about the network's research successes.The GRAND NCE (Graphics, Animation and New Media Network of Centres of Excellence) was created in 2009 through the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) program to employ an interdisciplinary and interconnected approach to address Canada’s technological, creative, socio-economic, legal and cultural challenges in digital media. At the end of its five-year funding period, GRAND had grown to become Canada’s largest digital media research network, linking 250+ researchers at 33 Canadian universities in nine provinces, as well as 184 industry partners and other receptors – the stakeholders and receptors of the research outcomes.

- Co-developed and implemented global marketing strategy to meet student recruitmenttargets, engage industry partners, and promote the CDM events and brand; - Developed and maintained multiple public websites and a student/faculty web portal; - Implemented, managed, and tracked online/print ad campaigns, surveys, webinars, live-streamed events, and the organization's social media presence.

- Managed and co-produced communications and promotional materials including web andsocial media content, videos, reports, advertisements, and presentation media;- Developed a web strategy, as well as redeveloped and managed the main website.

- Designed, wrote, and published online/print advertisements and promotional materials;- Conducted research for business plans, reports, and proposals;- Reconciled invoices and coordinated and prepared meeting minutes and addenda;- Designed and implemented three UBC websites (e.g. UBC SoundOff speaker's corner - see: http://web.archive.org/web/20090502084059/http://soundoff.ubc.ca/index.php)

Developed several department websites and web applications employing a range of technologies, including: - Digital edition of the Robert Graves diary for the UVic Libraries'​ Special Collection. - Speech acquisition text-analysis tool for the UVic Department of Linguistics - Prototype student web-based portfolio system to be implemented at UVic and at the University of Alberta - Presented work at conferences and information sessions at UVic
