Became an ‘accidental’ business owner at age 14. Mowing yards grew into a full-fledged lawn care and landscaping business with a portfolio of 150+ clients, and up to 30 concurrent client projects. I worked for the company full-time during school breaks and summer vacations, and delegated projects to contract employees when at school. Today, I manage the operations and new business acquisition. ・Direct daily business operations, sales management, client acquisition, marketing strategy, customer service, and business development. Develop and implement marketing activities to expand brand awareness and client base.・Conduct client appointments, communicating company’s unique value proposition and services. Perform a needs assessment, a physical inspection of the property, and budget commitment. Research and propose most viable solutions, present contract, establish project timeline, and complete the work. Follow up with each client seasonally, for add-on projects. ・Grew the business by saying ‘yes’ to client requests, and then figuring out how to make it work. This resulted in large-scale projects that included water features, digging out and laying walking paths, and bringing various functional or artistic pieces into my designs. It also resulted in ad hoc projects such as home improvement.・Became an expert in converting quick jobs into ongoing, extensive, seasonal landscape projects. Utilize design expertise and technology tools to upsell services, to help clients envision their dream yard, and to optimize each client’s budget to deliverables.・This job has acutely honed my skills in sales, interpersonal communications, time management, budget management, accountability, negotiations, customer service, inventory procurement, and supply chain.
