Library Assistant
Current• Perform standard library technician tasks per job description. • Assist patrons with the public desktops and laptops using multiple browsers, creating prints, working with files, scanning and faxing on the public copier. • Create various advertising and graphics for a variety of uses such as brochures, table tents, flyers, posters, bookmarks and programs. • Manage the “Makers Space” where the 3D printer, CNC Machine, laser cutter and sewing machines are located. • Photograph special events and classes for use on the organization’s website and Facebook page. • Design artwork from scratch to fulfill the needs for the social media targeted posts. • Set up a complete video studio for the Libraries and History division. Selected equipment such as cameras, lights, mics, grip gear and software. • Produce a workbook on how to use the video studio equipment. • Create, capture and edit video of library events and programs to be used for the county’s marketing purposes. • Use high definition video equipment with professional external audio recorders and microphones to produce a high quality product. • Prepare external video files for in-house production. • Created and produced 95% of the “How-To Festival 2020” videos. • Create, prepare materials and execute special programs for adult patrons such as “Smartphone Photography”, “iPhone & iPad Apps”, “Camera Basics” and “Geocache Photo Club”, and more. • Created, prepared and taught classes for the successful “How- To 2018” festival. (20% of the total event.) • Create workbooks, manuals and Keynote presentations for special programs and classes. • Create a brochure/flyer for each of the library branches that includes a map and pertinent information. • Assist patrons through the “Advice for Your Device” program where patrons need help with apps, email, general use and library on-line services for their smart phone, tablet or computer. • Maintain A/V equipment at two branches.
