I'm a library technician for the Charlotte County library system. I create videos for our virtual and in person programming. I handle all aspects of the production including setting up the cameras, lights, microphones and other related equipment. After the shoot I use industry standard software to edit the footage into a professional final presentation that is used on social media and other distribution networks. Part of my position is to ensure the makerspace equipment is up and running. This includes 3D printer (as well as software), laser cutter and engraver, and CNC paper cutting machines. I train patrons and staff on how to use the equipment as well as design special projects as needed. I've also been tasked with ensuring that all of our audio/visual equipment is operational. This includes projectors, handheld microphones, lavaliers, DVD/Blu-ray players and HDMI switching consoles for use with computers. Using my communication degree, I have also created posts and specialized artwork for use on social media. Using carefully worded posts, descriptions and keywords, allows our content to get maximum exposure across various platforms. I also offer adult programming for the community. Many of the tech related programs are very popular such as iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac. I've also set up and run a photography club for our community members, it is growing every month. Some of the other programs that I have created that have been popular are food related topics and geocaching.
