My name is Spencer Richards and I help healthcare providers implement innovative changes to their practices. I’d like to share a bit about my passion for healthcare administration:Providing service to others in their times of need is the primary reason that I chose to pursue a career in healthcare. Having worked in the operating room for several years, I’ve seen (and experienced) firsthand some of the hardships that both patients and healthcare providers deal with. Solving the complex problems and variability that makes healthcare administration exciting is what gets me out of bed in the morning. My career ambition is to help deliver the best possible care at the lowest appropriate cost. To accomplish this goal, I have built expertise in Lean Six Sigma, operations management, financial management/budgeting, and data analysis. Among other topics, I find the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to be especially interesting for healthcare. I currently work as a business consultant at Mayo Clinic, a position that I find exciting due to the opportunity to solve some of healthcare’s most challenging issues, while working with world-class care teams.
