Systems-thinking scientist-writer and climate solutions expert at One Earth focused on decarbonization models and implemetnation. Former Director of Research for Paul Hawken's book Regeneration: solving the climate crisis in One Generation. Previously, a synthetic biology specialist with expertise in cell therapy for immunology and oncology. I received my PhD from the Bioengineering Department at UC San Diego and then worked as a Senior Scientist at Cell Design Labs (acquired by Kite Pharma/Gilead) for two and a half years where I was the project lead of a team dedicated to developing their synNotch technology. I left my job at Kite Pharma to pursue a career in sustainability which eventually led me to my current work as a sustainability consultant, thought leader, and educator. I've always wanted to use my scientific background in conjunction with my love of writing, sociology, and philosophy to teach and communicate ideas while continuing my scientific research. Sustainability presents the perfect challenge to use all of my interests through research, creative communication, education, and outreach. My current challenge is helping people imagine a regenerative future and how we can all play a role in manifesting that future.
