Performing research in polymer composite manufacturing, polymer additive manufacturing, and NDE inspection.

Great opportunity to be an IACMI summer intern at DuPont - Performance Materials as a Mechanical Engineer. I performed mechanical testing evaluation on injection molded, short glass fiber reinforced PA66 to support CAE and simulation software development. We were investigating the triaxiality of the material to calibrate the failure mode for the CAE code. Was able to characterize material with tensile, flexural, failure mode analysis, and digital image correlation. This internship extended to a year long continuation where I expanded the project into multiple studies for material characterization. This great opportunities allowed the daily academic teachings to solidify while having a hands-on approach.

Co-Op position with Santec System, Inc. working under the supervision of Dr. Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, President and Founder of Santec System, Inc. Continuing the development of the advanced ultrasonic testing system, Acoustography. Acoustography is an ultrasonic area inspection technique. Responsibilities include algorithm development, modeling design work, and experimental development.

Intelligent Measurement and Evaluation Laboratory:Worked under the advisement of Dr. Tsuchin Philip Chu. Lead a team consisted of five Master students and two undergraduate students. Supervised multiple projects organizing and running laboratory experiments. Completed final documents and reports for project work.

I assisted in the classes below for the Fall 2015 semester and the Spring 2016 semester:ME 477 - Fundamentals of CAD/CAM (Fall)Introduction to the concepts of computer-aided design and manufacturing. Used Autodesk Inventor. My duties include help organize class schedule, assign homework problems, grade homework and tests, assist students during laboratory hours, assist in grading for students semester projects. ENGR 111A - Engineering Learning Skills (Fall/Spring)A supplemental instruction to engineering students math course. Tutored the student's math course topics and show how they are applied in engineering. Class sessions are held where I tutor, assign homework, grade homework, and teach engineering applications. ME 478 - Finite Element Analysis in CAD (Spring)The students are taught how to apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to engineering applications. The basics tools of finite element modeling and analysis are taught to the students. My duties include help organize class schedule, assign homework problems, grade homework and tests, assist students during laboratory hours, assist in grading for students semester projects.

­Intelligent Measurement and Evaluation Laboratory:Performing research on Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) of composites, carbon/carbon,and common materials using immersion ultrasound, air-coupled ultrasound, and infraredthermography.­Quantified levels of porosity of Carbon Fiber panels using acid digestion and correlated results with Through Transmission Ultrasonic (TTU) Acoustography images. Initial experience using optical Digital Image Correlation (DIC) on materials to analyze surface strain concentrations. Initial implementation using DIC and Ultrasonic Imaging.

Joined the Wireless - New Product Development team at Therm-O-Disc, an Emerson company. Performed Design Validation Testing (DVT) on new wireless product. Designed, organized, conducted, analyzed data, and wrote final reports for multiple testing including Temperature Cycling, Mechanical Shock, and Sinusoidal Vibration testing. Also, deployed wireless temperature/humidity sensors at Therm-O-Disc's production area. Used to monitor temperature/humidity for quality assurance of products.

Assisted in maintaining skyscraper window-washing rigs in downtown Chicago. Communicated with structural engineers about upcoming projects.

SAGE Learning Center:Tutored students attending McHenry County College from levels of general mathematics to differential equations.

Transfilling oxygen tanks under FDA guidelines. These oxygen tanks were then delivered to customers who need assistance in breathing.
