Throughout my career I have focused on real estate and business law, both during my law firm experience and as in-house counsel. Estate planning, small business succession planning, and probate work have become an increasingly important aspect of my law practice over time. I grew up around my family's real estate development, property management and historic renovation business, and my focus on real estate law started in law school. I am also a small business owner, not only in my law practice, but in the real estate and restaurant/brewery businesses I participate in with my family. In real estate law, my experience includes purchase and sale transactions, leasing, loan transactions and workouts, title issues, land use, single-asset entities, and condominium law, both development and owners association operational matters. In business law, my experience includes asset sale transactions, equipment leasing, employment matters, and insurance coverage and claims. In estate planning, my experience includes wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives for individuals and couples, together with succession planning for small business owners. I am a member of WealthCounsel, one of the country's largest organizations for estate planning attorneys, providing cutting edge education, document drafting techniques, and law practice technology. My goal as an attorney is to serve the needs of individuals and small to medium-sized business clients in all of their day-to-day, long-term and occasional legal matters.
