My father’s fables ignited my imagination with his every exhale that, ironically, helped tuck me in a night. Long yarns, tethered me to worlds beyond my own, providing a valuable perspective of the world around me and a curiosity to go beyond it. Comedy, brought me to the University of Edinburgh, famous for its Fringe Festival, but drama inspired me to study law. Where I learned, that the devil is truly in the details. Our stories form our legacy, passing on our values and our goals; so, that they may be examined, challenged, and exceeded. My work with Scribeasy is to champion unlikely storytellers, to amplify the voices of children who simply needed another type of canvas to illustrate their narratives. This experience has allowed me to collaborate with educators and innovators from around the globe, at conferences like the British Education Training and Technology & the American Library Association; keeping me up to date with the latest in Ed-tech software and culture-specific curriculums. Partnering with private, public, and governmental organizations has also required a robust understanding of compliance law pertaining to children and young adults to combat unwanted influences both externally and internally on the platform. (Policy like the UK’s AADC, USA’s CIPA & COPPA legislation, California’s Assembly Bill ('AB') 2273, and France’s CNIL design and data platform.)
