Started nonprofit organization that supported the arts in public schools of the San Fernando Valley. Primary fundraiser. Oversaw paid staff and 100 volunteers. Responsible for all PR and annual events. Produced a major arts festival every year in March, open to all 200 public schools in the San Fernando Valley. Responsible for outreach, booking schools, contracts, permits, guidelines, organizing orientation meetings, recruiting and training volunteers, curating visual art show, booking entertainment, coordinating and hiring sound and stage professionals, art workshops, booking vendors and coordinating rentals and floor plans, food and raffle donations, and all PR (press releases, billboards, radio interviews, barter for print ads, TV news spots, public TV videos), securing sponsors, working with city council offices, mayor, congressman and neighborhood councils. Led the organization from a Stage 1 organization (run out of my home) to a Stage 2 organization (autonomous from me with a $285,000 annual budget plus a great deal of in kind donations through various collaborations.)
