Drawing on my 20+ years of experience, brand guardianship, designing and preparing layouts and assets for OOH, events, merchandise, standard print collateral, websites, social media platforms, presentations, animated HTML 5 banners and basic After Effects compositions – all are well within my scope of knowledge.
For delivery and roll-out, my strengths lie in my technical knowledge of software applications, print workflows, media substrates, colour management and the difference between print and digital, CMYK and RGB, millimetres and pixels. I then apply this to rigorous quality control checks. I am fastidiously organised and a stickler for process, I have a keen eye-for-detail – checking items are on brand, on specification and consistent so brand and campaign messaging all link up.
My art and design education also gives me the creative ability to solve design and layout issues, set type perfectly and fully understand the brand and message behind the graphics I work on and allows me to add flair as and when appropriate and necessary. I’m a confident and reliable safe pair of hands with a mature approach to problem-solving. I remain calm, pragmatic and realistic in the face of the more menial and frustrating tasks required in this job. I pride myself in finding solutions to the good and the bad problems — and then communicating them to colleagues, suppliers and clients alike. I am a stickler for clear, concise, precise information. My design style reflects this.My part-time business of wedding photography has given me a creative outlet during the times my full-time role has been very production-oriented. It has also given me business acumen, self-promotion skills and a lot of confidence with people. My time at Canon as a Colour Management trainer gave me the confidence to speak up and deliver learning to large groups. I think that teaching, mentoring and the passing on of knowledge is very important and I find it rewarding. It was here that I also completed an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, with good feedback from the tutor.
