Throughout my professional career it has been a privilege to serve stakeholders with dedication and integrity. Away from the work-a-day world I enjoy assisting local organizations make our community a better place. Specifically, I am or have been: a Board Member and Secretary for the Lincoln Electric System Administrative Board;a Board Member and Treasurer for the Old Cheney Road Farmers Market; a Board Member and Treasurer, Open Sky Policy Institute, a non-partisan advocacy organization dedicated to improving opportunities for Nebraskans by providing impartial and precise research, analysis, education and leadership to policy makers and legislators;Member, Great Plains Trail Network; Proud supporter of Nebraska Public Media;Proud supporter of the Friends of Wilderness Park.I enjoy walking and cycling on Lincoln's trails year around, backcountry snowboarding during the winter, and year around I love homemade food washed down by a fine spirit. My wife, Anne Perlman, and I used to have fun driving and cooking for our children, Will (2000), Ava (2003), and Marco (2005) but only Marco is still at home and he can drive himself so Anne and I are trying to figure out this "empty nest" thing. We get help doing that from Denny, a giant schnauzer, and Dexter, an Irish Wolfhold. Most days they are overzealous helpers.
