I’ve committed my career to creating change in my community. I've taught life skills to returning citizens. I've counseled survivors of unimaginable violence.I've testified in countless state hearings and even in congress in support of reproductive justice.I've boldly shared my abortion story globally with press, social justice organizations, at a Denny's - any place people would listen.Tenacity. Grit. Gumption. Patience.These traits have fueled my career and ultimately my survival while working in one of the most high-stakes movements for social change - the abortion justice movement.As a nonprofit professional, social worker and storyteller - I've leveraged my skills to transform a volunteer led organization (Central Florida Women's Emergency Fund) into a vibrant statewide organization (Florida Access Network) that builds community and inspires hearts and minds to advance reproductive justice.My background:After dual enrolling in High School and University as a distinguished Hicks Scholar, I graduated from the University of North Florida in 2012 at just 20 years old with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Masters of Social Work. I am a proud queer Puerto Rican woman of faith who is most fulfilled while exploring the outdoors with my camera, laughing with loved ones and learning.
