Growing as a leader, building a team to execute on our shared vision of video discovery and enjoyment.Lead the technical team and development of product. Implemented real-time stream processing (Twitter, Facebook, etc) to extract shared videos, efficiently store them and serve them via a hybrid Ruby on Rails / C API. Built rich, mobile, responsive web clients and native iOS clients atop our API. Created recommendation systems from our dataset integrated into core API and clients.

My first step in entrepreneurship. Bootstrapped this SaaS business with two cofounders. Developed and executed on product, sales, marketing, and partnership strategy and tactics. Raised funding and grew the business through individual contribution and leadership.Created game film trading, management and review systems on the web, including a non-destructive linear video editor. Originally built in Google Web Toolkit (given my Java history), rewritten with Ruby on Rails (a much better choice to iterate on MVPs and maximize validated learning). Implemented infrastructure to process uploading, transcoding, storage and delivery of large video files in myriad formats.

Built a fully integrated web app in Ruby on Rails to manage memberships, marketing, partnership integration, responsive content management, and back office / administrative functions of the business. Implemented the foundational technical infrastructure to survive long beyond my tenure.Worked closely with CEO Eric Kuhn during the creation of this business from the ground up. Learned everything I could from him about start ups, entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, sales and partnerships.

Brought expertise from previous Cisco product development and system integration to newly acquired Audium Corporation, facilitating the integration of Cisco and Audium products. Developed features in Audium’s Eclipse-based, self-service voice application creation environment, while implementing TDD and continuous integration in the development process. Worked with technical leaders and product development in early stage planning and prototyping of next generation contact center workflow management system.

Utilized TDD to create infrastructure from the ground up for a real-time, enterprise class, distributed system for routing voice calls (Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal). Created in Java, running on Tomcat, it interfaced with Cisco gateways, legacy enterprise systems and a web-based self-service application. Worked closely with engineers and managers based locally and remotely, cross functionally with quality assurance, documentation, and others. Also assisted corporate clients - on site and remotely - diagnosing and resolving issues in prototype and production systems, helped develop and deliver training to various parties working with the system, and introduced and implemented wikis across teams.
