Sara Pizarro serves as the Vice President of Operations for Y Scouts. In her role, Sara leads the recruiting and research teams and supports the firm's overall operations. With a decade of experience in the recruiting arena, Sara was drawn to Y Scouts core values and reputation for delivering purpose-aligned and performance-proven leaders. Previously, Sara was the Vice President of Talent for Tide Rock, a San Diego based middle-market private equity firm. Sara was responsible for the recruitment and assessment of Tide Rock’s portfolio company CEO’s and their senior teams, as well as executives and high-impact professionals at the holding company level. Ultimately, Sara would create a talent bench of growth-orientated CEOs and Presidents who Tide Rock could partner with to identify and acquire new portfolio companies. Sara was also responsible for implementing processes and procedures around talent acquisition for the internal hiring of Tide Rock employees.From 2017-2022 Sara worked for McDermott + Bull Executive Search, an Orange County based retained executive search firm. During her tenure, Sara partnered with and supported Managing Director and Co-Founder, Chris Bull. Her recruiting focus was on VP and C-level roles, cross functionally, within private equity sponsored portfolio companies. Her responsibilities included candidate research and recruiting, pipeline management and candidate flow, as well as the overall client management and execution strategy. Sara is Lean Six Sigma certified. She resides in Chino, California with her husband and two children: Sebastién (5) and Sage (3). Sara received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she was a member of the varsity softball program.
