Founded on the belief that music has the ability to transcend cultural barriers and foster understanding, LMHR organizes music events, workshops, and campaigns aimed at raising awareness and challenging prejudice. With a rich history of activism and collaboration, LMHR continues to inspire individuals to stand up against racism and discrimination.

The Newcastle Gig Guide is an easy to use, comprehensive online guide to every live music event happening within the city, and its close surrounding areas. The aim is to highlight the huge variety of events taking place within the area in a fast and easy way.Local duo Johnny Hedley and Stewart Platt have been meticulously planning the launch of the guide for the last 9 months and the wait is almost over. The pair are heavily active within the local scene as events promoters, musicians, DJs and attend events regularly. They established a need for an easy to use guide to everything going on in the city and have tasked themselves with making it happen.After seeking guidance and advice from Generator NE, Project North East and funding from The NBSL, the pair found themselves with a huge amount of backing and support for the idea. Following this enthusiastic support they pursued the assistance of the renowned ‘Digital City Fellowship Scheme’ based in Teesside University, which lead to a 6 month program of mentoring and support from some of the UK’s most influential business minds. This support has been invaluable and allowed the pair the time to focus on researching and implementing the idea.“We’re both fully aware of just how much is going on in Newcastle, but we often feel that there’s a huge amount of people out there who don’t know how to access it”. explains Johnny. “We really felt the need to build a home for it all, to build a community that’s inclusive to all walks of life. Newcastle has well over 50 live music venues, but we often feel the bigger events get all the attention. We’re here to shed light on the whole scene and open peoples minds to a wider range of exciting things happening here.”
