I provide feedback on literature search strategies, critically analyze relevant articles, and assist indrafting the final report.I also present findings to a panel of Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) leaders and engage in critical Q&A. I am a provider at a transitions of care clinic within Brigham & Women's Primary Care where I serve patients recently discharged from an emergency room or hospital who lack primary care providers. Patients with complex medical and social diagnoses are provided accessible, low barrier care from a multidisciplinary team that aims to provide timely medical care, assist with coordination of care and focus on addressing social barriers that individuals face.

I am a board certified primary care provider in a large, urban academic clinical practice where I care for a diverse patient population. I have also been funded as a Clinician Innovator at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, where I am working on a project aimed at improving hypertension outcomes among Black & Hispanic patients seen at my practice.My teaching responsibilities include mentoring and supervising residents in the Brigham & Women's Hospital internal medicine residency program.I am participating in a leadership curriculum comprising primary care leadership talks, HBS case discussions, and a QI project.

I completed my internal medicine residency at the University of Washington, where I was part of the Global Health Pathway. In addition to providing clinical care to patients across a wide range of ambulatory and inpatient settings, I took part in HIV epidemiology research in India, Kenya, and the United States.I was awarded the Global Opportunities Health Fellowship by the Department of Global Health in 2020 to fund my research work in Mombasa, Kenya.

While a medical student at UC San Diego, I co-founded the Making Medicine Equal conference, a regional conference aimed at increasing awareness about healthcare disparities. Upon graduation, I was awarded the Terry E. Freitas Award in Environmental Health and Medicine.

Excess bleeding after childbirth is the largest cause of maternal mortality in the world. I co-founded a startup that developed a pressure measurement and modulation device to improve the efficacy of existing first-aid equipment used in low-resource settings. The venture involved user research, prototype development and iteration and fundraising.

I was awarded the Global Health Scholarship to pursue an MPH at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During my time there, I learned epidemiology, biostatistics and spatial analysis, which I applied in several research projects that have been published in impactful journals. My thesis focused on quantitatively exploring the intersection of mental illness, substance use, and stigma among men who have sex with men (MSM) and people who inject drugs (PWID) in India.During the year, I received the Leroy E. Burney award for my thesis work, which was published in Clinical Infectious Diseases in early 2019.

Health inequities cause disproportionately high morbidity and mortality to specific groups, yet there is a paucity in awareness about these issues within medical school curricula. I founded and led an annual regional conference in San Diego aimed at raising awareness, promoting collaboration among 200+ health professional trainees, and kickstarting advocacy to tackle a spectrum of health inequities.

Project Goal: To genetically engineer the anaerobic bacteria C. thermocellum to improve ethanol yields for biofuel production during a Dept. of Energy funded internship.Project Mentor: Dr. Adam Guss, Faculty Scientist, Oak Ridge National Laboratory.My role in this project has involved: Performing sequential gene deletions on various strains of C. thermocellum to and performing antibiotic selection to choose desired strains. Established two new strains of C. thermocellum for further manipulation and characterization. Presented the results of the work at a poster session in Aug. 2011 to fellow scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
