Prashant Shah is the Global head of Artificial Intelligence for Health and Life Sciences (HLS) at Intel Corporation. He leads Intel’s efforts to develop IoT, datacenter and cloud based artificial intelligence platforms for medical imaging, electronic health records, genomics, and drug discovery. His work has led to the adoption of Intel’s AI technologies by over half of the WW medical imaging market, enabling AI to benefit patients, and clinicians to deliver precision healthcare. Many of the AI platforms have been widely adopted not only for HLS, but also by other industries. Prashant is also an appointed AI advisor to National Institutes of Health’s ‘All of Us‘ precision medicine research program. This program aims to collect genomic, clinical, wearable, and environmental data of over 1 million participants for over 10 years, to allow researchers to establish the basis of wellness and disease. For over 19 years, Prashant has played a transformational role in developing technologies for precision medicine. Over the course of his career, he has built interoperability solutions required for data liquidity, and developed AI platforms to analyze the unlocked data. He has also advised national initiatives on healthcare data standardization and interoperability in the US, Europe, and emerging economies through the WHO.Prashant has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and a master’s degree in Computer Science.Outside of work, Prashant is a robotics coach for school-aged children. He teaches them mechanical robotics design, Android programming and computer vision. He enjoys hiking and camping with his daughter and his wife.
