 Asked into this role by the CMO, based on my efforts and results as a Medical Staff Specialist, to now manage 2 employees as well as handle all travel arrangements and manage his daily calendar.  Serve as the primary point-of-contact for 200+ providers; constantly aiding them with questions, license renewals, and/or directing them to the proper party. Routinely assist medical students with all of their housing, administrative needs, internships, and rotations; providing a supportive, professional experience. These efforts have positively impacted the hospital’s recruiting. Improved the physician credentialing process by re-working the application; eliminating redundancies and unnecessary questions as well as creating a detailed check-list to prevent delays.

 Managed all physicians’ credentials including new and existing doctors. Created a highly organized process of capturing and presenting the material to the proper committees in order to facilitate this critical vetting process.  Scheduled and attended all departmental medical executive meetings. Recorded and disseminated detailed meeting minutes several times per month.

 Redesigned the system for organizing doctors’ insurance credentials with 15 major insurance companies. Implemented a much more organized, methodical approach to this important task. Managed the phones for the Practice Administrator, scheduled her appointments, ran and organized important month-end reports, as well as set up and scheduled monthly manager meetings. Carefully verified, recorded, and submitted the bi-weekly payroll for 55+ employees. Addressed and escalated any discrepancies or issues.

 Managed 75+ patients per day at this busy practice. Thoroughly trained 10 new office and medical staff during my tenure. Oversaw the practice’s nursing staff where I covered their scheduling and filled-in when needed.  Covered many aspects of patient care including scheduling appointments, taking vitals, insurance authorizations, patient check-ins, as well as acting as a liaison between the patients and the doctors. Scheduled surgeries, ensured all paperwork and lab tests were in order, and obtained the proper insurance authorizations; providing a seamless process for our patients.  Maintained the office’s and our surgical suite’s inventory levels, sterilized equipment, assisted doctors with surgical procedures, and comforted patients by providing compassionate care and clear next steps.
