After the decision to dedicate my professional life to photonics, I obtained my M.Sc. in optics and photonics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and my Ph.D. in physics from Technical University of Munich. For seven years I developed cutting-edge ultra-short pulsed laser systems at TRUMPF for scientific applications like attosecond metrology or multiphoton spectroscopy where I gained a deep understanding about light generation, manipulation and detection as well as product development in general. In 2020, I joined DELO where I am now in charge of the company’s strategic development in the field of Optics & Photonics, covering applications like imaging & sensing, automotive lighting, laser assembly, photonic integrated circuits or AR/VR.

Thin-disk laser pumped high-energy few-cycle OPCPA:Energetic pulses in the few-cycle regime at high repetition rates are nowadays routinely used in ultrafast science. In this work, the design, setup and application of a high-energy few-cycle OPCPA system is presented. Carrier-envelope-phase-stable pulses with sub-3 cycle pulse durations around 7 fs and pulse energies >1.8 mJ at 6 kHz repetition rate are generated, resulting in peak powers >160 GW. High harmonic generation in Neon up to 93 eV is demonstrated using this system.
