Overview: As a graduate student researcher in the labs of Dr. Deborah Krakow and Dr. Stanley Nelson, I performed comprehensive genetic sequencing and related analysis, as well as molecular, cellular, and immunological characterization.Key Contributions:-Supported the research of Deborah Krakow, M.D. as a member of an interdisciplinary research team, performing exome analysis and functional characterization of identified mutations-Developed DNA libraries for exome sequencing, helped build the Nelson lab analysis pipeline, and identified causal variants from exome/genome sequencing data.Select Accomplishments:-Generated multiple published research articles with additional publications planned based on results of the discovery and characterization of several novel genes in patients with the ciliopathy, short rib polydactyly syndrome.-Improved in-house mutation annotation by helping develop a Perl-based variant annotation program.-Leveraged Novoalign, Picard, GATK, and Ensembl expertise to help pioneer lab exomic/genomic sequencing pipeline.

Overview:I worked as a research and development intern in the Drug Safety Department conducting cell & molecular biology experiments. Select Accomplishments:-Generated a stable cell-line expressing the renal transporter hOCT to be used as a screening tool to increase understanding of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ophthalmic drugs.-Developed and delivered results to inform the Drug Safety Department.
