I am a technology geek. I've been using computers since I was about 8-years-old when my grandfather taught me how to use a DOS command line. Now I teach him how to use his Mac.As a student, I preferred staying inside for recess to help my teachers grade papers. Later in life, I taught high school Latin for 3 years at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. Even teaching a 2000-year-old language, I integrated technology into my curriculum by having students walk the streets of ancient Pompeii via Google Street View.I enjoy developing systems and processes to streamline day-to-day office tasks. I take every opportunity to bring organization to disorganized office technologies—whether it's simply formatting databases and Windows Active Directory users uniformly; applying standardized, secure password policies; or deploying Windows Server Group Policies that keep office computers running reliably.As a professional graphic designer, I’ve designed complex vector graphics with Adobe Illustrator for lithographic printing. I’ve edited photos & raster graphics in Photoshop for web use. I’ve also designed websites for education, office-use, and real estate agents.My DISC personality profile is a very high SC, and very low DI. As a high S, I favor steadiness. I am sincere and dependable. I prefer to take the time needed in order to solve a problem correctly, rather than rush to the quickest solution. I have a calm and supportive manner. As a high C, I aim for quality, accuracy, and to be competent in all that I do. I work best independently without being micro-managed. Don’t skip the details with me. The more info I have, the better the solution I can provide.I am a jack-of-all-trades, and master of some. I understand a wide variety of technologies at an intermediate-high level. Being a teacher, I also make an excellent student. What technologies that I don’t have an expert knowledge of, I am willing and highly-capable of being taught.
