The Australian American Chamber of Commerce was an Australian social, business and networking group promoting Australian businesses located in the United States. It was a membership based non-profit and had chapters around the country. In 2005 it was amalgamated with the Australian American Association in New York to create two chapters of the same organization. Currently there are still other Australian Chambers in operation in the US, but the combined force of the New York (financial center) and Los Angeles (film and entertainment capital) AAA serves the larger echelons of Australian and American business.As Executive Director, I was responsible for maintaining memberships, raising money through memberships, capital campaigns and through various activities throughout the year, including an Australia Day Ball/Gala, business roundtables and events with other chambers to promote and foster growth in the Australian expatriate business community.
